Mitochondrial Disease Tests

Mitochondrial diseases are genetic conditions and they occur because the mitochondria cannot produce enough energy for the cell. Particularly in organs with high energy use, some symptoms may occur against certain genetic mutations in the mitochondrial genome or nuclear genes encoding proteins involved in mitochondrial function. The purpose of this test is to diagnose mitochondrial diseases without seeing a negative effect, or to improve the patient's quality of life against adverse conditions that occur due to mitochondrial diseases and negatively affect the body. 
Currently, there is no cure for mitochondrial diseases, but some different treatment options and approaches may contribute to reducing the symptoms caused by the disease or delaying or preventing the progression of the disease.
